How to Make a procade carrying box to carry your wet paintings

Spending money on a really nice paint carrier is always an option for some artists but if you are looking to make one really inexpensively and you are a DYI kind of person, this should work for you!  The following directions are for panels 11" x 14".

For less than $10, you can make the following paint carrier for paint panels.  I took a20x30 piece of 1/2" foam core ($3.99 @ Michael's), and four 2 foot pieces of1/4" basswood ($.67 each) from Michael's. I used super glue to attach thedividing strips.  A short piece of hook and loop (Velcro) with self-adhesive made the 'latch.Cut it to dimensions with a 90 degree cut using a good mat knife blade, measure, mark and glue thebasswood strips, and tape the whole thing together. I used duck tape.  It can't be beat for strength and appearance and speed!  This carries 8 - 11" x 14" panels.

Of course it is not as sturdy as a store bought wood carrier but those are very expensive.

This sounds awesome. I think I will have to try it. Wish it had pictures.
